American football is a sport popular in the USA which involves an eleven player offense working together to try to score a touchdown (or a field goal) with the opposing eleven player defense trying to stop them. The offense may pass or run the ball in order to get first downs, and if all goes well, a touchdown, while the defense tries to force a turnover (interception, fumble, on downs) or a punt. An American football game is played in four quarters, each lasting 15 minutes for a 60 minute game in total.
Ted Lasso used to manage American football team the Wichita State Shockers and led them to a national championship. Ted is seen celebrating with the players once he won the trophy. To the surprise of the media in the USA and the UK, Ted moved to the UK from the USA to manage Premier League side, AFC Richmond - his first experience of UK football.
