As Ted pointed out to Rebecca "biscuit" was the British word for what Americans called a "cookie" — rather than something like a scone thet Americans might "smother in gravy".

He used freshly-baked biscuits as a way of breaking the ice with her. Despite her initial resolve against them, she soon gave in to their addictive charms. Once he figured out that she liked them, he kept bringing them to her every day, in a programme he dubbed, "Biscuits with the Boss".

Still, they represented a threat to her plans to use Ted as a way to run AFC Richmond into the ground and then dispose of him. Accordingly, she sent Higgins out on a search of Richmond upon Thames for Ted's supplier. Higgins was ultimately unsuccessful because Ted himself was the master baker behind the treats.

At the end of its Spring Loaded event, where the Season 2 release date was also revealed, Apple teased the recipe of "Ted Lasso's Secret Shortbread", but the image cut off before revealing the recipe.
