Darts is a sport commonly played around the world. The game revolves around throwing darts at a dart board with the aim of accruing points. A player starts on 301 points and they must score points that are subtracted from that total, with the aim of getting their school down to 0. This means in the latter stages of a round of darts, a player must score a specific number of points to reach 0 exactly.
In the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso, Ted challenged Rupert Mannion to a game of darts with the bet that if he won, Rupert would not enter the owner's box at AFC Richmond home ground Nelson Road Stadium to prove a point to Rebecca. This was after his new fiancee Bex, with his financial backing, bought shares in AFC Richmond.
Ted commented to Rupert how people underestimated him his entire life and how he felt people needed to be curious, not judgemental. He noted how people who belittled him were judgemental and weren't curious - they underestimated him. He also revealed he played darts with his father every Sunday with his father when he was aged 10 through to 16 when his father passed away. Ted beat Rupert at the game, partly freeing Rebecca from the shackles of Rupert.
