The Diamond Dogs are a group of people founded by Ted Lasso featured in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso. The group includes Ted, Coach Beard, Nathan Shelley, and Leslie Higgins as they try to sort out relationship problems within the group but also for the people.

Other names for the group included "Ted Lasso's Personal Dilemma Squad", "The E.Q. Warriors", "The Knights of Support", and "The Proud Boys," which causes Nathan to vomit and everyone else uncomfortable. Nate then suggests the name "The Diamond Dogs" because they are from AFC Richmond and their mascot is a Greyhound. Everyone agrees with the name, and Higgins howl approvingly.

The Diamond Dogs[]

The group starts when Ted confesses to them that he had slept with Flo Collins aka Sassy on the night of the karaoke party after the game between Richmond and Everton F.C. in Liverpool. Ted feels guilty because Sassy is Rebecca Welton's best friend, and he doesn't want to lie to her which makes Higgins chokes a bit because he knew the truth about Rebecca trying to sabotage Ted.

Beard, Nathan, and Higgins advices Ted that he should not be worry about this and tells him to enjoy himself as he had also divorced from his wife Michelle Lasso.

Keeley Jones confronts Roy for being obtuse about their relationship. She was angry at him for ignoring her after their kiss, and she slept with Jamie Tartt which in exchange makes Roy angry too so he approaches Ted to ask for some advice and the manager convene the "Diamond Dogs" to try to talk through Roy's problems.

Roy confesses that he's uncomfortable with the idea of Keeley sleeping with Jamie before and after they broke up. Ted sarcastically says that it's not okay that Keeley had slept with other people while it's okay for Roy. After discussing the problem, the group concludes Roy should forget his hatred for Jamie, and focus on the future positive relationship involving himself with Keeley. Roy tells everyone that Keeley slept with Jamie recently, but when asks whether Roy is dating her or already sleeping with her, he answers no. Coach Beard tells him to grow up and get over it which makes the rest of the group howls, ending the discussion.

A Support Group[]

Not every Diamond Dogs' discussion ends in a positive way. When Beard mentions that he got back together with his on-and-off girlfriend Jane Payne, everyone seems nonchalant about it except Higgins. He voices his concern that Beard and Jane being together is not a good idea. Beard seems offended that Higgins doesn't approve, but he runs away to call Jane when he finds out that she miss-called him twice. Higgins is worried that Beard and Jane's relationship is not healthy since she is very over-domineering. Beard announces that Jane's roommate kicked her out of the house, so now she is moving into his home. Again, everyone seems to be okay about the news except Higgins.

Before the match against Manchester City F.C. in the FA Cup semi-final, Ted confesses to the group that during the previous match against Tottenham Hotspur F.C. where he left abruptly, he didn't have a stomach problem. He admits that he had a panic attack and been having it from time to time recently due to pressure. He explains that he's been seeing Dr. Sharon Fieldstone for a therapy. The rest of the group looks surprised but very supportive hearing Ted's confession, except Nate who seems to absorb the information.

When they are about to leave, Higgins suddenly needs to confess something too: he messed up the time zones on their transfer deadline which is why they didn't sign up the amazing new player from Brazil. Nate seems upset, while the rest of the group are okay about it.

Roy also admits that he doesn't read the scouting reports that everyone writes and always lied whenever it comes up because they are boring and he refuses to do it. Everyone seems not okay about it, but Ted only comments that he appreciate his honesty.

Nate mentions that he always pretend to get brilliant ideas at the moment when in truth he's been thinking the ideas for months. He just time it to look spontaneous. Everyone thinks that it's actually a good move and have nothing to complain about.

Beard confesses that during one of the games in the season, he was accidentally on mushrooms. He mentions that he'd been at Jane's house and drank from a wrong tea pot. Roy guesses that it was during a match against Port Vale F.C., and Beard confirms it. He promises that it won't happen again. Ted smiles because it seems the guys are confessing something to ease the awkwardness from his own confession, and he thanked them.

Among Us[]

A few months later, a story about Ted's panic attack is published in The Independent newspaper and many news media including Gillette Soccer Saturday because apparently someone leaked the story to Trent Crimm. Beard suspects that it was Nate who leaked the story especially after seeing some changes from the former kit man where he bullied Will Kitman and Colin Hughes. He tells Ted about it but the head coach doesn't want to confront Nate, yet.

Before the match against Brentford F.C., Roy reluctantly asks for an advice from the group, which excites Ted because it means the former captain wants to join the Diamond Dogs. Roy rejects the idea of him becoming a Diamond Dogs member but doesn't object the idea of him being in the room when they are talking about their problems. Ted makes it easier for Roy by calling him a junkyard dog or a 'visitor pass' in the group, and then they howl together for approval, except Nate who just grunts. He rolls his eyes to see everyone seems happy for doing this; to him it looks cheesy and a waste of time.

Roy admits that when he and Keeley were doing a photoshoot, it hurt his feelings that the magazine didn't use a single picture of him. He also admit that seeing Keeley on her own actually makes him proud because she looked great. He then adds that Jamie confessed to Keeley that he was still in love with her, and it pisses him off because Jamie actually apologized to him. Roy is furious because he also forgave Jamie.

Nate then proceeds to confess that he went shopping with Keeley and kissed her which shocked everyone but Roy, who knew and wasn't angry at all at him and he was okay about it. He tells Nate that he made a mistake but it was all forgiven. It kind of angers Nate that Roy forgives him and doesn't consider him as a threat to their relationship. He even asks Roy to headbutt him as a form of punishment, but instead Beard offers to headbutts him because he knew it was Nate who leaked the story about Ted's panic attack to Trent Crimm.

Ted cut the tension between the coaches and tells everyone to dismount the group while howling. Only Nate and Beard who doesn't howl as they stare at each other warily.

Roy concludes that The Diamond Dogs is just a group for the coaches to chat and pour their hearts out without solving any problem. And he's cool about it which makes Ted and Beard happy because the disgruntled coach seems to warm up with the idea of communicating.

A New Beginning[]

Nate leaves Richmond and joins West Ham United F.C. and aligns himself with Rupert Mannion, with the group hardly communicates anymore. It isn't until Trent Crimm, a former sport journalist from The Independent joins Richmond to do a research for his book about the club. He wants to know about The Lasso Way and about the daily lives of the whole club, so he shadows the coaches.

When Ted fears that Michelle Lasso and Dr. Jacob are going to Paris to get engaged, he calls for a meeting of the Diamond Dogs; a very confused Trent ends up joining in, much to Roy's annoyance. When the group realizes Ted only assumed this was happening, Trent points out he cannot worry about something he is not sure will even happen, with Higgins suggesting he at least find out before getting worked up about it. The meeting disperses, with Trent giving an affirmative "woof!"
