Apparently, John and Rebecca have been on a date a couple of times, and she thinks that this man probably the one. Ted is happy for Rebecca especially being included to their girl-talk.

Rebecca asks Keeley whether she and Roy Kent would be available for a double date with her and John, and the younger woman immediately agrees because Roy is free most of the time after retiring from AFC Richmond.

Rebecca tells Ted that his name is John, but he mistakenly thinks it's John Stamos. Rebecca corrects him and say that his name is John Wingsnight, and Ted says his name reminds him of an American sport bar that provide chicken wings. Rebecca says that John is a wonderful man, handsome, successful, not shy - but when Ted asks whether the man is nice, Rebecca seems uncertain but agrees at the end.

John is excited to finally meet Roy as he's a fan of football, although he doesn't have a particular favorite team. He asks Roy about the retirement life and compliments him about the speech he made; apparently his father forwarded an email about it and was happy it wasn't about the scourge of immigration.

He asks her whether she wants to go back to his place, but she decline the invitation, so he kisses her goodnight and leaves, before telling her to let him know whether he passed the 'friends test', as he glance knowingly at Roy and Keeley.

Rebecca asks Keeley and Roy about their opinion of John, and surprise to hear that her friends seems unenthusiastic about him. Although Keeley politely says that John is fine for Rebecca; such having an appropriate age and not shy, Roy seems to disagree with the assessment. Roy thinks that Rebecca deserves a better man and someone who makes her feel like she's been struck by a lightning, and tells her not to settle with a fine guy. Roy's opinion makes her ponder about their relationship.

No Drama[]

During a lunch date, John keeps talking about himself and the celebrities he encountered while he was in Broadway, failing to see a distraught Rebecca who seems to realize that he isn't right for her. When John asks her whether there's something wrong, Rebecca mentions that her best friend Flo Collins told her that intimacy was all about leaving yourself open to being attacked and she needs to be brave enough to let someone wonderful love her, without fear of being hurt and without fear of being safe.

John realizes that Rebecca is breaking up with him. He accepts her apology and without drama, accepts the break-up.

Jessica finds it funny and thanked Rebecca because after the breakup, they both end up together after matching on a dating site - but not Bantr.

John starts prattling about how he and Jessica went to see Hamilton and argued with Sir Anthony Hopkins after the celebrity refused to acknowledge Jessica. She calls John as her Shite in Nineing Armor but then laughs because she meant her Knight in Shining Armor. Rebecca is horrified to hear her comment and cannot believe what she is hearing.

They are complaining about how the ticket seller is looking at them like a psychopath. They are seated behind the West Ham goal post at the upper rows so they can watch the match better.

John and Jessica are ecstatic.

During the penalty, Isaac McAdoo gets a chance to score a goal after Jamie Tartt and Dani Rojas passed the ball to him. He kicks the ball very hard and it goes to the crowd. At first, everyone assumes that Isaac missed the goal but after referee Mike Dean checking the net, it seems he kicked the ball very hard, it went through the goal nets and hits John's face. His nose is broken and there is blood all over his face, but it doesn't matter because the referee declare it as a goal, and cheers erupted from the crowd, including from him and Jessica.
