Kansas is an American state in the Midwestern, United States, also the state from which both Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, Michelle Lasso, and Henry Lasso comes from, and it's featured in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso.
Before accepting a job as the manager for AFC Richmond in Richmond upon Thames, London, Ted was the Head Coach of Wichita State University football team Wichita State Shockers alongside his assistant coach, Beard.
Recently Ted leading the Division II Wichita State Shockers to their first ever National title in American football. Ted took the Shockers from a garbage program all the way to the promised land of national league in his first season as the head coach.
Both Wichita and Kansas City are very important to Ted and Beard especially when they are in England and far away from home. Beard in particular often wears ball caps and T-Shirts evoking various places in Kansas, and Ted is known to be fond of certain brands of Barbecue Sauce that it's shipped to him in England.
When both Ted and Beard first arrived to London, England, and visits one of the landmark of Tower Bridge, the head coach whistles and says a famous American phrase, "Coach, I got a feeling that we're not in Kansas anymore."
In the series finale, Ted comes home to Kansas to be with his son, and he coaches his son's football club at the unnamed Kansas elementary school.

- In reality, Jason Sudeikis comes from Kansas and according to an interview, he claims that Ted Lasso grew up in an unnamed suburb of Kansas City.
- When Ted calls his son Henry via video call, he uses the original Arthur Bryant's Barbeque Restaurant as his background photo.
- Ted and Beard wear T-Shirts that say Joe's KC, Gates Bar-B-Q, and Jack Stack BBQ.
- Beard wears a fictional Kansas City Sines baseball cap, a reference to Jason Sudeikis' best friend Chris Sines from Kansas City.
