Martin De Maat is a minor recurring and also an unseen character featured in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso, and a goalkeeper for AFC Richmond. He usually seen along with other team members and even participates in group activities such as karaoke and dancing in clubs.
He played for one season and his position was mostly replaced by Thierry Zoreaux. He left after Jamie Tartt returned to the club, but returned in season three along with Anders Rosenfeldt.
During the 'ghost cleansing' ceremony at their locker room, he throws a pair of lacy underwear to the bin before they take it out and sets it on fire outside.
He usually hang out with other players such as Kukoč, O'Brien, Paul Reynolds, Anders Rosenfeldt, Richard Montlaur, Colin Hughes, Tommy Winchester, and Jeff Goodman.
He is barely seen in season three, but his locker, which is next to Tom O'Brien is visible.

- According to actor and creator Jason Sudeikis during the 60Minutes interview, the character was named after the legendary The Second City teacher and director Martin De Maat. Both Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt studied and performed with The Second City in the late 90s, likely under the tutelage of Martin, whom the stage is now named after.
