Mr. Mann is a recurring character featured in the Apple TV+ show, Ted Lasso. He is an AFC Richmond fan, a regular patron in The Crown & Anchor, and a resident of Richmond upon Thames. He is constantly calling Ted Lasso a wanker; first as an insult, and then as an affectionate nickname. His first name is never mentioned.
Mr. Mann is one of the overzealous Richmond F.C. fans and he usually let his feelings be known especially to the American coaches. He, Baz, Paul, and Jeremy share a sentiment against the American coaches.
He is very old, with a white hair and always wearing a Richmond scarf around his neck. He's probably the same age as Nigel but more louder and ruder.
During a match against Watford F.C., Ted decides to replace Jamie Tartt with Robbie Roberts. When the highlighter shows the numbers, everyone is in shock, and the patrons are angry including Mr. Mann who yells "You don't know what you're doing!" . But two minutes of added time remaining, Richmond have played well, even without Jamie. Roy Kent makes an extra pass to Sam Obisanya who scores the goal, and everyone cheers including Mr. Mann with other pub regulars. They celebrating Ted and the rest of the team for the winning.
That night, Mr. Mann congratulates Ted and Coach Beard for doing a great job for winning while still calling him 'wanker'. Ted thanks him and drinking a beer with Beard while sitting in the rain on a bench.
During Christmas while having a walk around the neighborhood, Mr. Mann drunkenly greets Ted with a "Hey, wanker!" and wishes him a Merry Christmas and he also flips him a bird. Ted cheerfully greets him back while Rebecca Welton is shocked to hear him cursing the coach. Ted explains that it's an inside joke between him and Mr. Mann, although it's mostly for the old man's benefit.
After the news article from Trent Crimm about Ted's panic attack is published, Mr. Mann confronts Ted at the usual bench and say that if his own father had a panic attack during the World War II in Normandy, everyone would speak German. When he leaves in a huff, he turns around and speaks in a more apologetic tone and encourages Ted to keep going and tells him that he will be alright. He gives Ted a thumb up as a support, and then leaves.
During his routine morning walk near the The Crown & Anchor, he spots Ted and gives him a middle finger while the coach only smiles.
He is last seen walking into the Nelson Road Stadium with a teenager, presumably his family, to watch the final match between Richmond and West Ham United F.C. and looking very excited.
