Nigel is a minor recurring character featured in the Apple TV+ show, Ted Lasso. He is an AFC Richmond fan, and the owner of Earl, the club's mascot. An elderly man, he is also a dog handler from Barkingham Palace, a dog shelter where they keep dogs and puppies, and mostly provide mascots for football clubs.

At a Richmond match against Nottingham Forest, Nigel is holding Earl's leash but apparently it wasn't tied very tights as the dog manage to slips out and escape to chase a bird. The dog jumps into the path of Dani Rojas who is in the middle of a penalty kick, which kills Earl instantly. Everyone watches in horror including Nigel.

Nigel appears again bringing many puppies for a new mascot to Leslie Higgins's office. Higgins is supposed to choose a new mascot, and the candidates are Macy Greyhound or Tina Feyhound, two female greyhound puppies. He is with Suzi Campbell, the owner and a female-dog breeder from Barkingham Palace.

During the match against Brentford F.C. for a place back in the Premier League, Jamie Tartt is able to get himself a penalty kick when the goalkeeper from Brentford tackles him. Instead of doing it himself, he gives the penalty kick to Dani. Sport commentators Arlo White and Chris Powell make some comments that Dani hasn't kicked a penalty since the death of their mascot. Dani takes the chance as he observes that Nigel is standing by with the new mascot named Macy Greyhound, who is wearing a tiny helmet.

Dani smiles and says his motto: "Football is life" and scores the goal.

Nigel is last seen during a final match between Richmond and West Ham United F.C. for the Premier League rank, He is holding a leash of the mascot Macy Greyhound, also nervously watching Isaac McAdoo ready to kick a penalty shot as he is holding the leash very tight. Isaac manages to score a goal and the dog is saved from harm, and the club wins the match.
