Richard is a recurring character featured in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso, and one of the patrons of The Crown & Anchor. He is an AFC Richmond fan, a regular patron in the pub, and a resident of Richmond upon Thames.

His last name is unknown and never mentioned. He is an elderly English gentleman who always sits at the bar during and after dinner. He usually sits and reads a book or a newspaper, truly absorbing what he read at the time.

He chimes in when Mae tells Coach Beard, Jeremy, Baz, and Paul to leave the pub because it's closing time, and uses the opportunity to jab at him about their failed date because apparently Richard liked to correct her in everything.

Paul is surprised to hear that Mae went on a date with Richard, who apparently is well-known as someone who likes to correct people. Richard corrects Mae that they went on two dates not one, because having coffee together is considered to be a date. Mae tells him to get out from the pub, which he obliges.

When Ted Lasso and Beard are having beers together after dinner, Ted sees Richard is reading The Independent newspaper where there is a huge picture of him on the last page and an article written by Trent Crimm about his panic attack during the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Mae sees that Richard is reading the newspaper and tries to comfort Ted, saying that he doesn't have to worry as the article will soon forgotten as people will find something new. Ted thanked Mae, and while she's walking away, she grabs the newspaper from Richard's hands and rips them apart.

Richard lets her take away his newspaper, shrugs, and drinks his beer while saying, "I was finished anyway."
