Season One is the first season of the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso. The season is comprised of ten 30-minute episodes and it premiered on August 14, 2020. A second season was confirmed on August 19, 2020.
Season one of Ted Lasso is about an an American football coach who moves to England when he's hired to manage a British football team — despite having no experience. He has to tackle a lot of problems from everyone especially from his own AFC Richmond team players who views him in a cynical way, and the town of Richmond upon Thames who refuses to accept him.
He is also has to face the fact that many people expect him to fail, including his own boss and owner of the football team Rebecca Welton and facing the relegation. However, Ted's charm, personality, and humor begin to win over Rebecca, the team, and those who had been skeptical about his appointment.
Season one introduced a variety of main characters such as Ted's best friend Coach Beard, Jamie Tartt's girlfriend Keeley Jones, veteran player Roy Kent, football director Leslie Higgins, and a shy kitman Nathan Shelley.
