Higgins, Mae, and Ted explains the curse at the pub

Ted decides to call every player to The Crown & Anchor and tell them to listen to Leslie Higgins and pub owner Mae telling a story about the origin of the curse.

Mae expresses her concern that once the word gets out that the Richmond players are here, the place will be filled with fans. Mae and Higgins then tells the history of the curse: the origins of the curse extended back to November 1914, when posters went up around Richmond area, soliciting men to try out for the team.

The men were duped; it wasn't for a football tryout, but there were recruiters waiting to encourage those boys to fight the World War I. Mae concludes that there were 400 lads enlisted and they had their physical at the treatment room in Nelson Road Stadium. Before she can finishes, the fans are chanting outside the pub, trying to take a glimpse of their favorite footballers, and Mae says 'told you' to Ted.
