Ted Lasso Wiki

The Sun was a newspaper open to running stories of a scandalous nature. Rebecca tried to get the paper to run a story that featured Ted in an apparently romantic interlude with Keeley.

It was owned by a man Rebecca knew personally, and who also owned what she called a "more reputable newspaper", The Independent.

Ernie Lounds was one of their reporters. He was nominally assigned to cover sporting events, such as the presser before the AFC Richmond/Crystal Palace F.C. meeting, though he used his time to ask Rebecca about personal details of her failed marriage to Rupert Mannion.

Behind the scenes[]

The paper is a real one, whose rough American equivalent might be any one of a number of sensationalist periodicals one finds in the checkout aisles at grocery stores.
